„I love volunteering for BSAVA because I belong to the association and have the opportunity to shape its future, particularly for vet nurses. Volunteering has allowed me to develop a range of new skills and network within the veterinary community. During my time with BSAVA, I have sat on the membership development committee and was the regions treasurer. Volunteering for BSAVA has offered me opportunities to grow in my career. For example, I was instrumental in the organisation of the Vets Cymru Conference in 2019, I became the editor of the 2nd edition VN pocketbook and I have been able to help influence the direction of the association by becoming the first VN to be elected as a BSAVA regional chair and council representative this year.“ – Emma Gerrard.
