The acute onset of intracranial neurological signs, often assumed to be a stroke, is distressing for owners of affected dogs, often leading to impulsive emotion-driven treatment decisions. Many owners either cannot afford or don’t want the rigmarole of, referral and MRI scans and a precise diagnosis is usually not available in primary care practice.
